I'm fairly new to cooking and wanted to try a stew recipe for the first time. I very rarely have stew, but recently I was visiting Ireland for the first time and ordered a stew from a restaurant, and it tasted incredible. I wasn't expecting to completely recreate that dish obviously, but I was hoping to at least get something flavorful. But it turned out incredibly bland. This is the recipe I went with: https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/irish_beef_stew/ What are the most important ingredients of the stew that give it flavor? Are there any specific cooking habits that make a big difference? Is the recipe that I chose just not that great? submitted by /u/LavishnessGreedy3378 [link] [comments]
