I'm in the market for a new food processor and older sites have been recommending the Breville Sous Chef 12 but saying it was discontinued. I've been looking at the Breville Canada website and found one version of the 12-cup model for CAD $319, but it looks like there's another newer one on their website for CAD $579 with a nice looking caddy and all that. However, the 16-cup is on sale for $519. (Woof, these prices.) I'm wondering (1) whether these are the best prices I can expect for the good Breville food processors?? Do I have to wait for Black Friday for the new 12-cup one to go on sale? and (2) Should I just get the old $319 model, in the hopes that they sell the caddy separately at some point? Or is the 16-cup model the best deal? I cook for family and have a decent amount of counter space but 16 seems like overkill.
