Moved house, new place has a great orange tree. Tried to make marmalade....followed the recipe as close as I could. The stove top isn't great in this place, so my guess is it didn't boil well enough to thicken. I did use a thermometer and got as close to the temp in the recipe, was maybe a few degrees lower? Anyway, it's all jarred up now - probably like 2 litres in total! - husband suggested pouring it all back into a pan and reheating to thicken. But I'm considering finding alternative uses for quite runny marmalade/orange goop. Can I link the recipe below for reference? If not let me know, I can take it out. https://www.chelsea.co.nz/recipes/browse-recipes/breakfast-marmalade But also, I'm more interested in trying to decide whether to try redo the batch, or accept that it's not the right consistency and use as is/bake or cook with it. Happy to hear any other recipes for marmalade too, there's still more oranges on the tree! submitted by /u/Jigglycreampuff20 [link] [comments]
