In trying to make lentil tofu, I followed this video: GOCHUJANG RED LENTIL TOFUπŸ₯΅ #redlentil #gochujang #soyfree #tofurecipe #veganrecipes #veganfood I soaked my red lentils in boiling water for the required time, but then found out that my oster blender was.....inadequate. The puree came out grainy and not smooth. I overstuffed my dutch oven and the stuff on the bottom got dried out while reducing with heat. I may not have used enough water to blend. Right now, my solution for my next attempt are 1) Actually precook the red lentils somewhat- simmer it in boiling water for a minute or two before blending 2) Get rid of the blender and get something slightly better? 3) Thicken the puree in small batches so that the it's no more than 1.5 inches thick. I don't have a nonstick pan, only a dutch oven and a stainless steel pan-is there a way to prevent a burnt/pasty crush from forming at the bottom? Would precooking the lentils about halfway make the blending process smoother? What blender is better than oster but not too upscale? submitted by /u/Clear_Entrance8126 [link] [comments]
