Hello! I’m co-hosting a baby shower in 5 weeks and I’m wondering if anyone can help me decide how my prep should go so that things still taste good and don’t go mushy or gross The shower is on a Sunday at 2, so I have Friday majority of the day to prep, all day Saturday, and Sunday until 11:30 to do all the cooking and baking. I don’t really have any help. Here’s what I’m planning: -veggie sandwiches (catered from a deli) -Crostini with bruschetta on the side -marinated feta cubes in bowl with crostini on the side -crostini with rosemary white bean dip (dip on the side or on top? Prob easier on the side) -Skewers with mini mozzarella balls, Pepperocini, basil, grape tomato, roasted red peppers with a balsamic glaze -pita chips (those Costco ones) with hummus or another dip on the side (feta dip???) -feta skewers with cucumber, tomato , olives and a little sauce on the side (like an olive oil oregano, maybe balsamic type vibe or something??) -Veggie platter -fruit platter or skewers -crackers and cheeses Dessert: -Cinnamon date cake (this holds up well for 2-4 days) -Oatmeal choc chip cookies shaped like bears (need to put some bear faces on with melted chocolate, this might take a while) -Trifle, I have a few options https://cheflindseyfarr.com/lemon-berry-trifle/ OR https://princesspinkygirl.com/lemon-trifle/#wprm-recipe-container-117088 OR https://amandascookin.com/lemon-lush-trifle/ -Cupcakes with Teddy grahams (done by a bakery) -Mixed berries -Bear trail mix with honeycomb cereal, choc chips, etc -there are also some sugar cookies from a bakery Any help? It’s for about 60 people, needs to be vegetarian. Is this too much? Would you cut things down and do just a few things but do lots of each? It’s teddy bear themed so want to keep some bear stuff. Also keep in mind I love to cook and would love to cater as my job so none of this would be a chore at all, but of course a good amount of work. I’d also say I’m a good cook and have been told that, but I could easily make a mistake and am not a chef at all! THANK YOU!!!!! submitted by /u/chump555 [link] [comments]
