*editing to add: In my neck of the woods, it turns out that they must make this dish by stir-frying green beans in 'Chinese White Sauce' and adding extra garlic. Thanks to u/fschwiet for the tip, it turned out great! How can I make the classic saucy garlic green beans that you get from Chinese restaurants? The ones I'm looking for are soft bendy beans, slightly charred clear sauce, likely cornstarch based tons of garlic fucking delicious I don't know how to get such a savoury, amazing sauce thats clear and seemingly only garlic and cornstarch, and I can't find any recipes online. I've tried making it myself using MSG, and super light soy, but it's never quite right. What am I missing?? submitted by /u/elephantsgraveyard [link] [comments]
