A local Indian chain has amazing daal soup & tikka masala. can't seem to find a recipe that is similar to their lentil daal (or tikka masala/butter chicken for that matter). their daal isn't thick, is pretty watery consistency, but tastes almost like a broth with the spices & herbs they use. its also "mixed" lentils per the description. I also like mouth-burning levels of spice too in my curry, and dont like too much creaminess in it. love a good ballance of spices without being overwhelming (as with anything, frankly). Just wondering, does anyone have any good recipes for either based on that?
